Participation of the Department of Nursing of the University of Thessaly in the Florence Network Annual Meeting (FNAM 2026)

The Department of Nursing of the University of Thessaly participated in the Florence Network Annual Meeting (FNAM 2026), which took place from 13 to 17 April 2026 at the University of Zenica, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Florence Network is one of the most important and longest-standing European networks in the field of Nursing and Midwifery, aiming to develop and improve the quality of higher education through international cooperation in education, research and scientific development.

Within the framework of the conference, Professor Maria Malliarou presented the speech entitled: “Advancing Professional Identity Formation in Nursing Education: Evidence-Based Factors and Educational Strategies”, contributing substantially to the international scientific dialogue on nursing education and professional identity.

Particularly important was the participation of Academic Fellow Ioannis Kouroutzis, who presented four posted announcements, in collaboration with Dimitra Anagnostopoulou, E.D.I.P. of the Department and the doctoral candidates Vasilis Tzenetidis , Magdalini Soutzidou and Maria Nataliani, all members of the Innovation in Healthcare Laboratory.

Special mention is made of the posted announcement entitled: “Innovating Postgraduate Education in Advanced Nursing Practice for Digital Healthcare Systems”, which highlights the modernization of postgraduate nursing education in the context of the digital transformation of health systems and which is a project of the Postgraduate Program of Studies "Advanced Nursing Practice".

The Department of Nursing's participation in FNAM 2026 is part of its strategy to strengthen internationalization, develop research collaborations and promote academic excellence.

At the same time, it confirms the Department's ongoing commitment to connecting education, research and clinical practice, actively contributing to the shaping of the modern European academic and professional environment in Nursing.
