Student Care

Academic Identity

Academic ID is entitled to all students of universities of the country.

However, beneficiaries of an Academic ID, with a valid Special Ticket Card (PASO) are:

  • The full-time students of the first cycle of study who have not already received a university degree during the number of years required to obtain the degree according to the indicative educational program, for two (2) years.

  • Part-time students of the first cycle of educational program, who have not already received a university degree for twice as many years as are required to obtain the degree according to the indicative study program.

  • The students of the second cycle of studies who are not holders of a postgraduate degree for the number of years that their educational studies last according to the respective indicative educational program.

  • Third year students who have not already hold a doctorate during the four (4) years from the date of enrolment.

  • Students-citizens of Member States of the European Union and third countries, who study in a domestic university under the mobility program of the European Union "Erasmus" for as long as their study in a domestic university.

  • The termination of the student status for any reason, automatically entails the termination of the right to hold the Academic Identity, which in this case should be returned to the Secretariat of the relevant Department.

The students of the University of Thessaly submit electronically the Application for the provision of free food, through the appropriate online platform of the University of Thessaly. https://merimna.uth.gr/  using their Institutional Account codes. Applications are submitted before the end of the current academic year and on dates set by the Department of Student Welfare, in order for students to receive food for the next academic year.

The first-year students submit the application electronically after the completion of the registration-identification at the Secretariats of the Departments and the acquisition of the Institutional Account codes and on dates set by the Student Welfare Department.

ANNOUNCEMENT

 

SUBMITTING NEW APPLICATIONS FOR FREE FEEDING EDUCATIONAL YEAR 2021-2022 AND SETTLEMENT OF SUBMISSIONS OF SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS

We inform the students of the University of Thessaly, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral candidates who have submitted a feeding application that the electronic feeding platform closes on August 11 and will open on August 26 to settle outstanding claims on food applications submitted.

They will also be able to apply online for free meals from 26 August to 14 September  the students  who did not have time to submit an application within the previous deadline, through the online platform of the University of Thessaly ( https://merimna.uth.gr ), using the codes of their institutional account.

A prerequisite for submitting the application is that the Administrative Tax Determination act (settlement note for the tax year 2020).    

For access to the online Feeding Request platform must make use of it

ANNOUNCEMENT

 

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS FOR FREE FOOD AND HOUSING RIGHT ACAD. YEAR 2021-2022

 

We inform the students of the University of Thessaly, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral candidates,

that they will submit electronically the Application for the granting of free food, and the right to housing through the online platform of the University ( https://merimna.uth.gr ), using the codes of their institutional account.

To access the online Feeding Request platform - Housing must make use of

Virtual Private Network (VPN).

 

It is pointed out that only the students of the Departments of the University of Thessaly based in Larissa and Karditsa could apply for food and housing at the same time.

  Applications for the right to housing will be submitted from Wednesday, June 9 to Wednesday June 30, 2021

Applications for free feeding will be submitted From Wednesday June 9th to Wednesday July 28, 2021

 

ATTENTION: Applications that will be submitted after 30th June and will relate to the right to housing will not be taken into account.

 

A prerequisite for submitting the application is that the Administrative Tax Determination act (settlement note for the tax year 2020).

Student Housing Allowance

Housing Allowance Applications are submitted electronically through the website of the Ministry of Education and Religions ( https://stegastiko.minedu.gov.gr/ ), in the special application for the housing allowance.

In case of any Applications required by the beneficiaries, the submission of additional supporting documents, these should be sent to the competent services of the Student Welfare, by post or electronically, no later than two months from the date of submission of the Application.

We inform the students of the University of Thessaly that the applications for housing allowance for the academic year 2021-2022 will be submitted electronically from Tuesday 29 June 2021 until Friday 30 July 2021, through the website of the Ministry of Education and Religions ( https: // steg .minedu.gov.gr / ), in the special application for the housing allowance.

In the context of dealing with the risk of the spread of coronavirus COVID-19 for those applications that require the submission of additional supporting documents by the beneficiaries, to be sent by mail or electronically within 30 days from the date of application to the relevant Student Welfare Services. Health care​

We inform you that according to par. 3 of article 31 of law 4452/2017 (A'17) it is defined that "Undergraduate and postgraduate students and doctoral candidates, who have no other medical and hospital care, are entitled to full medical and hospital care in the National Health System (ESY) with coverage of the relevant expenses by the National Organization for the Provision of Health Services (EOPY) in accordance with the application of article 33 of law 4368/2016 (Α'83) ".

Therefore, Health Booklets will no longer be issued to uninsured students of the University of Thessaly and we ask those students who previously received Health Booklets to return them to the Department Secretariat.

The issuance of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for uninsured students traveling to European Union and EEA countries for educational purposes, will be carried out by the Directorate of Student Welfare. The costs that may arise will be covered by the University of Thessaly.

For the granting of E.H.I.C. the following supporting documents are required:

2. Certificate from the Office of International Relations for the period of their movement abroad

3. Photocopy of the Academic Identity
