Biochemistry with emphasis on physicochemical study-construction of biosensors for antibody detection in Clinical Biochemistry

Dr. Erasmia Rouka is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Thessaly, Greece, with specialization in Biochemistry with emphasis on the physicochemical study and construction of biosensors for antibody detection in Clinical Biochemistry. She graduated from the Nursing Department of the School of Health Sciences of the Alexandreio Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki and the Department of Biology of the Faculty of Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In addition, she holds a Master's degree in Primary Health Care from the Medical School of the University of Thessaly with a Master's thesis in computational biology and a PhD degree from the Medical School of the same university in the scientific field of molecular epidemiology. She worked for several years at the University Hospital of Larissa, initially as a Nurse (June 2002-May 2008) and then as a Biologist (May 2008-May 2022). She was trained in Bioinformatics, DNA microarray analysis, as well as in PCR, qRT-PCR, FRET and ELISA technologies (specializing in the detection of specific IgM and IgG antibodies against viruses and ADAMTS-13 autoantibodies). She is a member of the Hellenic and the European Respiratory Society, the European Society of Virology and the Panhellenic Association of Bioscientists. She has 24 publications in international journals and has participated in several national and international conferences. She is also a reviewer in international scientific journals with high impact factor. Her current research interests focus on the study of lung and pleural diseases through in silico, immunological and molecular analyses.
